Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when dreams come true at last, there is life and joy.
Proverbs 13:12
What
does it mean to be adopted? As I look at my two beautiful, internationally adopted daughters from Nepal and Vietnam, the definition
becomes living and full of personal meaning, not just a two-dimensional word on a written page. Maybe what I want is not so
much a definition as an understanding of the depths of its meaning on a spiritual level—the act itself
of love, sacrifice, cost, and inheritance.
What does it mean to be adopted by our heavenly Father?
Do others have the ability to take away our dreams?
Children of Dreams is about my journey to Asia to adopt
two daughters from the remotest regions of the earth. While I faced insurmountable odds, God’s redemptive love
vanquished the forces of evil that tried to stop me. Through forgiveness and healing, God restored the years the locusts had
eaten and gave me a powerful understanding of what it means to be adopted by our heavenly Father through Jesus
Christ.
If you struggle with wondering if God hears your prayers or cares about you, take heart. He does. He is
in the business of doing the seemingly impossible. Enjoy this inspirational journey around the world and within the heart. You
are in for a trip you won't soon forget.
Nepali adoption is not for the faint of heart. I
took a beautiful picture of Mount Everest while I was there as well as a lifetime of memories, Someday I hope to go back.
